Mayowa Lambe has moved to the courts amid the growing controversy surrounding her past relationship with Roby Ekpo, following his viral interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast.
Acting through her legal team, Mayowa issued a cease-and-desist notice accusing Ekpo of deliberately pushing false and damaging claims about her in the public space. The letter firmly states that their traditional union had already been dissolved with the consent of both families before May 11, 2025, dismissing any suggestion that they were still married at the time of his revelations.
According to her lawyers, Ekpo’s public statements—where he spoke on alleged infidelity, financial dependence, her character, and their marital status—are completely untrue and were presented as facts to mislead the public. They argue that his repeated appearances on platforms discussing these issues show a pattern of amplifying private matters for attention while harming her reputation.
The legal notice highlights that his claims have triggered widespread backlash online, exposing Mayowa to trolling, ridicule, and damaging commentary from the public.
In challenging Ekpo’s narrative, Mayowa insists she holds concrete evidence to defend her position. This includes proof of her financial role during the relationship, records of efforts she made to support his relocation abroad, and medical documents linked to their joint attempts at having a child. She also referenced communications and third-party interactions that allegedly contradict his version of events.
Her legal representatives described the situation as a case of malicious defamation that has caused emotional strain and reputational loss.
As part of her demands, Ekpo has been ordered to stop making further statements about her, take down all related content across platforms, publicly retract his claims, and issue an unreserved apology using the same channels. In addition, she is seeking ₦100 million in damages.
He has been given three days to comply with these conditions or face legal action, which may include claims for aggravated damages and further proceedings before the appropriate authorities.
The dispute continues to generate intense public interest, with both parties maintaining conflicting accounts of what transpired in their relationship.
