Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has responded angrily after his online clash with social media critic Martins Otse escalated, leading to both men unfollowing each other on Instagram.

The rift deepened after Seun publicly defended activist Omoyele Sowore during a live session, a move that triggered backlash from VeryDarkMan’s supporters.

Addressing the situation on Instagram Live, Seun made it clear he would not tolerate anyone insulting Sowore in his space, even if it meant upsetting others.

“Una think say I go allow una come my own live come insult Omoyele Sowore and I no go defend am? If two of my friends choose to fight themselves na dem bizniz be that, I don’t have to pick sides I am nobody’s minion, but I won’t allow anyone insult either to my face.”

He went further to slam those attacking him online, accusing them of hiding behind false personas while throwing insults.

“You are rats not ratels. Why Una dey disguise”

The fallout has stirred reactions across social media, marking a clear breakdown in the relationship between Seun Kuti and VeryDarkMan, who were once seen as allies.
