Benjamin Netanyahu has disclosed that he is in “excellent physical condition” after doctors detected and successfully removed an early-stage malignant tumour.
In a post shared on X on Friday, the Israeli leader explained that the tumour was discovered during routine follow-up checks after his 2024 surgery for an enlarged but benign prostate. According to him, the cancerous growth was less than a centimetre in size and was completely treated without leaving any trace.
He noted that he deliberately postponed the release of his medical report to avoid it coinciding with tensions between Israel and Iran, saying he did not want the information to be used for “false propaganda against Israel.”
“I had a minor medical issue with my prostate that was completely treated. Thank God, it’s behind me.”
Netanyahu added that he prefers to act quickly on any potential health risks once detected, stressing that the same approach applies both personally and in matters of national importance.
The update on his health comes ahead of his expected visit to the White House, where discussions are anticipated as the United States continues efforts to secure a lasting resolution to the conflict involving Israel and Iran.
