Nigeria’s Super Eagles booked a place in the final of the 2026 Unity Cup after defeating Zimbabwe convincingly in London on Tuesday night, with debutant Femi Azeez scoring twice on his senior international debut.

The Nigeria national football team winger gave Nigeria an early lead within the opening five minutes, finishing calmly to put his side ahead. He later grabbed his second goal in the 63rd minute to complete an impressive debut performance.

Nigeria, who are defending champions of the tournament, dominated proceedings throughout the encounter, enjoying most of the possession and creating numerous chances while restricting Zimbabwe to limited opportunities.

Head coach Eric Chelle praised the team’s display after the match, highlighting the contributions of the new players handed opportunities during the competition.

The victory also ended Nigeria’s recent run of draws against Zimbabwe, giving the Super Eagles their first win over the Southern African side in recent meetings.

Azeez, who recently enjoyed a strong campaign with Millwall F.C. in the English Championship, is now expected to attract further interest ahead of the summer transfer window following his standout performance.

Nigeria will face the winner of Wednesday’s second semi-final between India and Jamaica in the final.
