Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has reacted to the drama involving Adeola Diiadem and her former best friend, Dabota Lawson, while taking a swipe at the pressure surrounding Lagos’ high-profile social circles.
The actress questioned why some people feel compelled to associate with women popularly regarded as “Lagos big girls”, suggesting that the glamorous lifestyle portrayed online may not always reflect reality.
In a social media post, Nkechi wrote:
“Na una want be friends with self acclaimed Lagos big girls by force 😂😂 people wey be say na online aesthetic want wound them, the moment you go close you go too pity them 😂🚶,”
She made it clear that she does not consider herself part of the “big girl” category, saying her priority is simply to live comfortably, eat well and have enough money to travel.
“Me I be Yankee broke girl 😂 I no kuku identify with anything big girl, make I sha Dey see food chop and ticket money to fly round d world…who get pass me no concern me 🤙”, she noted.
Nkechi also said she is not interested in forcing herself into a particular social group, especially because she values having her own space.
“The pressure to belong to the so called Lagos big girls can never be for someone like me that likes my space,” she wrote.
She further pointed out that people often make assumptions about celebrities based on what they share online. According to her, those who choose not to constantly display their lifestyle can quickly be branded as broke.
“Cus we no Dey post lifestyle dem go call us broke 😂,” she added.
