President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance at the State House in Abuja.

Oyedele’s appointment follows a recent cabinet reshuffle that saw the former Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, making it her third portfolio in the current administration.

The brief ceremony at the State House officially marked Oyedele’s entry into the Federal Executive Council, where he will assist in driving the administration’s fiscal management and economic reform programmes.

Before his appointment, Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, set up by President Tinubu to reform Nigeria’s tax system and fiscal framework. The committee developed proposals aimed at simplifying tax processes, improving compliance, and boosting government revenue.

Oyedele, a 50-year-old economist and public policy expert from Ikaram in the Akoko area of Ondo State, brings extensive experience in finance, taxation, and economic policy to his new role.
