Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has distanced herself from the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign council for the 2027 election, hours after she was listed among 33 entertainers appointed to the Lagos APC Campaign Council.
The actress was included in a list released on Thursday alongside notable entertainers such as Oga Bello, Bukky Wright, Yinka Quadri, Pasuma, Saheed Osupa, Small Doctor and Malaika.
However, reacting to the development on her Instagram Story, Toyin Abraham urged the public to disregard reports suggesting that she had joined the campaign council.
Explaining her position, the actress said she had chosen to stay out of politics.
“I’m staying out of politics.”
She further clarified her position in a separate post, writing:
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently, I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee.”
Her comments effectively disassociated her from the reported inclusion of her name in the Lagos APC campaign council.
