Wrexham has congratulated goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo after he made his first appearance for the Nigeria national team.

Okonkwo earned his debut in the Unity Cup semi-final against Zimbabwe, where the Super Eagles secured a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from Millwall winger Femi Azeez.

The 24-year-old was a surprise starter ahead of the more experienced Francis Uzoho and kept a composed presence throughout the match.

Wrexham praised the shot-stopper on their official X account following his debut performance.

“A clean sheet for Arthur Okonkwo on Super Eagles debut ,” the English Championship team wrote.

Okonkwo previously represented England at youth level before switching his international allegiance. FIFA officially confirmed his decision to represent Nigeria on April 6, 2026, marking a new chapter in his international career.
