The Department of State Services (DSS) has brought a fresh set of charges against former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and his son, Abdulaziz, as they were re-arraigned before the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations relating to terrorism and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The case came up before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, where the DSS informed the court that it had filed an amended charge, replacing the earlier one in which the defendants were initially arraigned.

Prosecution counsel, Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN), told the court that the earlier charge had been withdrawn and requested that the amended version be read to the defendants so they could take their pleas afresh.

Counsel representing Malami and his son, Shaibu Aruwa (SAN), confirmed that they had been properly served with the updated charge and did not object to it being read in court.

The amended allegations claim that in December 2025, the former minister and his son allegedly prepared to commit acts of terrorism by unlawfully possessing a Sturm Magnum 17–0101 firearm, 16 rounds of Redstar AAA 5.20 live cartridges, and 27 expended Redstar ammunition.
