VeryDarkMan and Afrobeat legend Seun Kuti have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram, marking a clear public fallout between the two personalities.
The development comes shortly after Seun Kuti openly threw his support behind activist Omoyele Sowore in the ongoing controversy surrounding the detention of cryptocurrency entrepreneur Blord. The case has continued to generate heated debates online, with different public figures taking opposing sides.
Tensions escalated when Seun Kuti, during an Instagram Live session, criticised VeryDarkMan’s approach to activism. He questioned his credibility, suggesting that while VeryDarkMan associates with wealthy individuals, Sowore operates in a more grassroots and uncompromising manner. He also condemned Blord’s detention, aligning with Sowore’s push for his release and questioning the handling of the case.
The disagreement appears to have strained the once-friendly relationship between Seun Kuti and VeryDarkMan. Not long ago, both figures were seen together in a symbolic moment where they sacrificed a ram in honour of Fela Kuti, following criticism from Wizkid directed at the late music icon.
However, that brief show of unity now seems to have broken down, as their recent online actions indicate a widening rift. The mutual unfollow on Instagram has now been interpreted by fans as the latest step in an escalating feud between the two outspoken personalities.
