Adebayo Adelabu, who recently stepped down as Minister of Power under Bola Tinubu, has stirred conversations after he was seen directing traffic in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Adelabu resigned from the federal cabinet on Tuesday, April 21, following a meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, as he prepares to contest the governorship seat in his home state.

His appearance on the streets managing traffic has since sparked mixed reactions, with many Nigerians reflecting on his performance during his time overseeing the country’s power sector.

Before leaving office, Adelabu reportedly presented a detailed account of his stewardship over the past two and a half years. According to his Special Adviser on Strategic Communication and Media Relations, Bolaji Tunji, a key highlight of the session was the presentation of the National Integrated Electricity Policy alongside its Strategic Implementation Plan.
