Angela Okorie has responded to criticism after revealing that she burned the outfit she wore to Alexx Ekubo’s funeral, insisting her comments were misunderstood and taken out of context.

In a series of posts on her Instagram Story, the Nollywood actress said her message was not intended to cause controversy but had been wrongly interpreted by social media users.

“Oh well my those who knows, knows my message out here is not to stire up what ever cos I know you idi*ts will interpret it wrongly,” she wrote.

She explained that the outfit in question was not taken to Lagos, adding that it had already been given out for disposal.

“But is to whom it may cencern, Anyways suit your selves,” she added.

Angela further clarified that she had handed the outfit over to her aunt in Owerri to burn, stressing that her actions were personal and not meant for public debate.

“I gave the outfit I wore to the burial To my aunt in owerri to burn it for me, I didn’t even go to lagos with it. And this information is to whom it may concern,” she said.

The actress also cautioned critics to be mindful of their comments, noting that the family of the late actor is still grieving.

“Some of you talking trash, You had better shut up ur mouth and understand the family and loved ones are still grieving be careful what you say out there Ndi iberibe,” she added.

She went on to share a WhatsApp screenshot showing a supporter defending her actions, describing it as a “spiritual” decision.

“Spiritual secrets cant be understood by everyone…. You did absolutely the proper thing my Munchkin Blessings of a new week Goodevening Nmili nma,” the message read.

Angela replied simply: “Yes mummy.”
