Singer Tiwa Savage has voiced concern over the reported kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, saying the incident is not receiving the level of attention it deserves online.
Speaking in a video shared on her social media page, the music star explained that she only found out about the abduction after seeing a post by singer Spyro.
“I started seeing the kidnapping that happened in Oyo literally just yesterday. I think it was Spyro’s post that came up. And I’m trying to… I reached out to a couple of people to figure out what, you know, to get the back story. Because it wasn’t coming up in my timeline. It’s not trending enough. It’s not trending as much as it should.”
Tiwa added that she later came across another post by media personality Kiekie, where she discovered the incident had reportedly happened nearly two weeks earlier.
“Then I saw Kiki’s post and I see that she says it’s almost two weeks,” she said.
Her comments have sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians also expressing worries over insecurity and the safety of students and teachers across the country.
