Content creator MC Mbakara has publicly apologised to Nollywood actor Jim Iyke following the backlash that trailed his comments about a brief encounter they had in an elevator.
The controversy began after Mbakara shared his reaction to the interaction, claiming he was disappointed by what he perceived as the actor’s cold attitude during their short meeting.
Expressing his frustration at the time, he said, “What will it take for him to smile? It’s annoying. Celebrities always feeling like they are God or something.”
However, his remarks sparked criticism online, with many accusing him of unfairly judging the actor based on a brief encounter.
Following the backlash, Mbakara revisited the issue and admitted that he had misjudged the situation.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, he offered an apology to Jim Iyke and everyone affected by his comments.
“I never thought this will trend but I am dropping my sincere apologies to Uncle Jim Iyke and everyone about this issue. I was wrong,” he wrote.
He added that he never intended to misrepresent the encounter and acknowledged that his earlier comments were wrong.
