Former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been handed a six-month driving ban in the United Kingdom after failing to provide information identifying who was driving his Rolls-Royce when it was caught speeding in Cheshire.
According to court records reported by multiple UK outlets, the vehicle was recorded travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on March 27, 2026. Salah subsequently failed to respond to a prosecution notice from Cheshire Constabulary and did not enter a plea.
He was prosecuted at Warrington Combined Court under the Single Justice Procedure and convicted of failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver. The original speeding allegation was separate from the offence for which he was convicted.
Alongside the six-month driving ban, the Egyptian footballer was ordered to pay £1,044, comprising a £660 fine, £120 in court costs and a £264 victim surcharge.
The incident occurred just days after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool following nine seasons with the Premier League club. He later moved to Turkish side Trabzonspor after the 2025–26 season.
It is not Salah’s first driving-related offence. In 2022, he was fined £200 and received three penalty points after being caught speeding while driving a Ferrari.
Despite the off-field setback, Salah made headlines for his performance on the pitch over the weekend.
The 34-year-old forward scored a hat-trick and provided an assist as Trabzonspor defeated Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray 4-0 on Saturday.
Salah opened the scoring in the fourth minute before setting up Noah Saviolo for Trabzonspor’s second goal in the 39th minute. He then scored again shortly before half-time before completing his hat-trick in the 80th minute.
The victory gave Salah a memorable individual performance against Galatasaray, while Trabzonspor moved up the league standings following the emphatic win.
