Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District, has appeared before the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo for questioning over comments allegedly made against members of the Accord Party.

The lawmaker arrived at the command headquarters around 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Samuel Erale, the Commissioner of Police responsible for election security.

Fadahunsi’s appearance followed an invitation from the police concerning remarks attributed to him during an APC campaign rally in Ilesa ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The comments reportedly generated concern after a video of the senator’s speech circulated on social media.

The police had previously cautioned politicians and their supporters against making inflammatory statements capable of increasing tension or threatening peace ahead of the election.
