Popular content creator Sirbalo has raised alarm after a disturbing encounter with suspected agberos in Lagos.
He revealed that the situation escalated after he was allegedly asked to pay ₦200,000 despite not receiving any service or purchasing anything, with the demand reportedly based solely on his status as a celebrity.
In a bid to avoid confrontation, Sirbalo said he offered ₦50,000 as a compromise, but the move failed to ease tensions.
According to him, the situation quickly turned violent, leading to damage to his vehicle.
“This Agbero issue in Lagos State is getting too much these days. See how they brøke my windscreen just because they demanded ₦200,000 for doing nothing for me, but I gave them ₦50,000, yet they still brøke my glass. I will spend over ₦700,000 to fix it,”
His post has since triggered widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over what they described as increasing harassment and extortion by transport union enforcers across parts of Lagos.
The incident has reignited conversations around public safety, accountability, and the urgent need for stricter regulation within the state’s transport system.
