Veteran Yoruba actress Iya Rainbow has dismissed the long-standing claim that late actor Baba Agbako was the biological father of Fuji star Pasuma, describing the rumour as false.
Speaking during an interview, the actress said there was never any blood relationship between Baba Agbako and Pasuma, despite the widespread belief that has persisted over the years.
According to her, the misconception likely arose because Pasuma’s late mother was an actress who worked under Baba Agbako during her time in the Yoruba movie industry.
Iya Rainbow explained that Pasuma was already a grown man before his mother introduced him to people in the industry. She also praised the Fuji singer for remaining loyal to those who shared a close relationship with his late mother, even after achieving fame.
She said:
“I am always surprised whenever I hear people calling the late Baba Agbako as Pasuma Wonder’s father. Lots of people just choose to say nonsense because how are they related? Late Pasuma Wonder’s mother used to be an actress just like me. Everybody in our industry can testify to it and she was under Baba Agbako then. Pasuma Wonder was already a grown up boy before his mother brought him to our industry. When Pasuma became popular he choose not to abandoned all of us that were closed to his mother including me. Pasuma Wonder is a very good son, I pray always for him that he wouldn’t kpai young, he will live long in good health and sound mind in Jesus Name 🙏. I love Pasuma Wonder so much and may God bless him abundantly.”
She added that Pasuma has always remained respectful and appreciative of those who were close to his late mother, noting that he never forgot the people who supported his family before his rise to fame.
