Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday paid a visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, at his residence in Abuja.

The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, has sparked political discussions, although neither side has officially disclosed what was discussed during the visit.

Observers have linked the development to the growing political calculations ahead of the 2027 general elections, especially amid ongoing alignments and shifts in Rivers State politics.

Despite remaining a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike has continued to maintain close ties with the ruling APC since joining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as FCT minister.

The meeting also comes shortly after Yilwatda publicly stated that the APC remains open to welcoming new members, including Wike.

According to the APC chairman, the FCT minister is “free to join the APC anytime,” a remark that further intensified speculations about possible political moves ahead of 2027.
