TikTok personality Love Dooshima has been released after being held by the Nigeria Police Force for several hours over a viral bread review video.
Her ordeal began after she was invited for questioning over allegations of cyberstalking, fraud, and mischief tied to the content she shared online. The situation gained attention when influencer Lucky Udu posted a message from her confirming the police invitation.
“I have received an invitation to police headquarters to come for an interview because I have been reported for cyberstalking, fraud, mischief and so on.”
Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong disclosed that she was eventually released in the early hours of Tuesday after intervention from senior authorities.
He explained that Dooshima had arrived at the Zone 7 Police Headquarters in Abuja around midday on Monday, April 20, 2026, but was detained afterwards.
“We received a distress call that she honoured police invitation since 12pm on Monday, April 20, 2026, but she was detained afterwards,” he said.
Effiong added that he, alongside others, visited the facility late at night to press for her freedom. He further revealed that the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, intervened and directed officers to release her.
“Following the intervention of the IGP, she has been released at about 12:30am today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026. We will be back by daybreak,” he said.
